Trouble-shooting → Software → Renoise → Instruments → VSTI

Problem: VST (I) plugins that take minutes to load…
Cause 1:The plugin performs actions to prepare itself to work with a different sample frequency than it’s own default.
If a plugin defaults to 44.1Khz and you set Renoise to operate in 48Khz, the plugin might have to changes various aspects of
it’s environment in order to perform on that frequency range. Some Sampler VSTI’s resample their library so that the samples
are played on the proper frequency. This resampling can take up minutes.

Cause 2:The plugin was saved with an instrument or a song with a very large scale of changed parameters.
The new document format of Renoise registers all parameters in a sort of subbinary form but in MIME encoding.
If your plugin has a load of parameters and midi settings, and you changed a very large amount of those, the parameters
take a longer time to load than when you would initially start them.

There may be other causes as well, but the above two are official experienced problems.
The problem caused by large scale changed parameters should not occur quickly though, the amount discussed
regard a real excessive amount of parameters changed!
