Renoise 1.8 or higher doesn’t load compressed samples (with a certain length of names)

Renoise uses the Quicktime library to import various compressed formats:

MP3
AAC
M4A
OGG

You need to have at least Quicktime 7.0 to be capable of importing these formats but this may not guarantee all your compressed samples will still be loaded…
The quicktime library accepts a limited file-name character size to 28.3 due to the nature of the filename size limit in OS 9/8.
Shorten the size of your filename to the above mentioned amount of characters may resolve your issue so the quicktime library can load it.
If your format still refuses to load, try to load it in a player known for the best support of this format (E.g. for MP3 try WinAmp).
If this recommended player doesn’t load your sample, chances are likely it is corrupted or not the format it pretends to be.
