  • Renoise 1.9.1 Beta for Linux released
Currently Renoise 1.9.1 Beta has been released for all registered users.
Lots of bugfixes and a nice new feature that allows you drawing manual samples in the sample editor. The biggest change is the addition of a Linux variant.
Registered users can log on to the backstage site of Renoise in order to get their copy of the new version!
Read the Linux FAQ and other topics to get the Linux requirements and missing features information.

  • Offline Manual updated to 1.9
The last updates and image corrections have been applied to the 1.9 manual as well
as you can download the full offline edition of the 1.9 manual. You can ofcourse still add comments and suggestions on the current open topic right here on the board. Thanks!

  • Manual updated to 1.9
You are now looking at the 1.9 manual pages. Feel free to roam around. If you have any specific questions or find mistakes (spelling and grammar probably a lot, but i mean descriptions that do not match the situation because i probably forgot to update them) report them on the board. Thanks!

  • **drumrolls**
    When you read this, you might have already downloaded the 1.9 Beta, or it is still to be released *very* soon;
The release will be officially announced on the boards when 1.9 is already available on the backstage area and not earlier
You can at least peek at the changelog what you can expect in 1.9 meanwhile awaiting the release
The following only regards the documentation changes about 1.9 from my current situation:
Documentation will updated during this beta period, it may take a little longer but it took a lot more extra work last release since a lot of GUI changes were done during the Alpha and Beta stages while most of the graphic screenshots were already taken.
Doing the animation gifs takes a lot of work to get them processed so i’d rather not redo them too often.
Just explore the new version and discover the features for yourself while the docs are being slowly updated in the background.

  • Final documentation online
The documentation of the final has been update to the latest changes.
This means that all aspects and images should match the existing situation.
The whole site will be moved back to the tutorials entry in the near future, for a while 1.8 and 1.5 will each live on their separate spaces for now.

  • Final is released!
As of today the Final edition is finally public!
Taktik again has done some changes between RC3 and the Final edition ofcourse unexpected but this means the documentation currently lacks info and screenshots about entering manual values in the automation area.
Updating these images take time so it will take a little while before i have enough to make these changes.
(I have done my best last time to get things done so i could move on with my other things that really demand a lot of time now.) At least the positive side of this is it is a personal desired feature and again, another extra feature added.

Taktik has done a tremendous amount of work again, he deserves some real good credit for it on multiple areas!
Over 30 features added / changed during Beta testing time. Registering Renoise always has benefits at any moment, wether this is after Final release or during Beta. There is no excuse to postpone registration if you really like what you experience during the demo release candidates and final demo editions.

  • RC3 is public!
RC3 has been made available on the download pages!!.
This is the very last update prior to Renoise Final.
For the wiki documentation this means the last changes have been made so all is ready to be moved to the original tutorials site and this brings the documentation already in a Final edition.
The offline documentation set has been updated as well, you can download the final edition of the offline docs.

- Dec. 21st 2006-

  • RC1 is public!
RC1 has been made available on the download pages!!.
Get your mice and click your copy of your Renoise Demo to your harddrive.
You will be in for a surprise what you can do in the demo in contrast what our changelog says.
This will be changed soon enough however. Also not all visual changes have been set in this version yet
and the offline edition is completely outdated so have some patience for the updates.

  • Minory updates
Currently Beta 8 is running, the last beta before RC1.
Most of the visual changes and behavior has been added to the documentation. Taktik promised me not to make any more visual changes. Some of the animations and screenshots are not updated yet but these involve minor mistakes where the focus is not on the topic of where the error lies.
Do take care you clear your caches before browsing the pages else you still might get old content in your face.

  • Minory updates
Currently Beta 5 is running, Beta 6 is coming up.
The 1.8 wiki pages have been made public so no more backstage login prior to browse these pages.
A hello to our unregistered friends and interested that came to browse around; Feel free to compare the current documentation to the 1.5 edition but you might as well want to check out the changelog instead which lines up all particular changes in contrast to 1.5.

  • New documentation
The first beta for registered users is cycling…
This ofcourse wouldn’t do it without new documentation.
Everything ready including the off-line edition (HTML only and only from this home-page currently) though the online is the most up-to date edition.
Check the images in the print preview and test one page by printing it to see if images are really chopped, the print preview in some browsers do not give a reliable view of what you will truely see on the printer.
Some things have changed, some remained the same, but almost every image has
been replaced by a more sexy looking snapshot. Also all animations have a scaled equivalent animation so there will be no more still scaled frames of an animated image.
There are ofcourse new features that you can find documented here.
The PDF edition is not easily generated so i would like to ask all beta-test users (MacOS and PC users) to test printing facilities of the HTML edition in available browsers.
I want to know in what browser it prints fine and the printer-model used. Also if it doesn’t print fine, i would like to know.
Again stating browser and printer model.
Just give me some feedback on the boards if things in the documentation are unclear.
Note, you cannot bookmark this page; You can reach it from the backstage area and once your here it will work fine until you close your browser (or the last tab containing this manual).

  • Misc updates
Long time no news update on this site…
Beatbattle has passed and the results are known.
The generic newsposts are now done on the frontpage.
Still some things happened here while not checking.
It seems that some spammer was able to figure out which pages aren’t protected…
Not only that, the spammer managed to hijack the general help-library of this site.
Not that this is very useful as the only result the spammer reaches with it is tighter security.
This also means that the user pages have been password protected as of today.
And the profiles section also have been password protected in the same way.
*sigh*, the things spammers crawl through just for a few days of unnoticed pageranking.
Read The contribution FAQ for more info.
